AAFCO has published its new Pet Food and Specialty Pet Food Label Guide. This new version was developed in collaboration with state and industry feed control officials and includes the new model regulations from the Pet Food Label Modernization (PFLM) project.
The new labeling guide includes:
Detailed guidelines and instructions for the new pet nutrition facts box
Revised intended use and nutritional adequacy statements
New label and packaging visual examples
In-depth information about Pet Food Regulations, including product name, ingredients, descriptive terms, nutrients and feed ingredients
The Pet Food and Specialty Pet Food Label Guide is helpful for pet food businesses and manufacturers, large and small, who would like to stay current on labeling requirements. The guide is $150 for AAFCO members (state regulators and FDA) and $200 for non-members.
