The Wenger Group appoints chief executive officer

Brad Wagner has been working in the agriculture industry for almost 25 years.

The Wenger Group recently announced the board of directors has appointed Bradley (Brad) Wagner as its chief executive officer and as a member of its board of directors, effective October 1, 2024.

“Following a comprehensive review, the company is excited to appoint Brad as our CEO beginning in the next fiscal year,” said Phil Rohrbaugh the current CEO and vice chairman. “We have a high level of confidence in Brad as he has been leading Wenger Feeds, our largest business unit, for the last several years, and he is a proven leader in our organization who is people and results focused, and, importantly, understands our culture and customers’ first orientation.”

Brad Wagner commented: “I would like to thank the board of directors for placing their trust and confidence in me. It is truly an honor to become the CEO and serve on the company’s board of directors. I look forward to working with all of the company’s team members to achieve The Wenger Group’s fullest potential and continue to build on a strong track record of performance.”

Barry Shaw, the company’s current executive chairman, added: “on behalf of the company’s board of directors and team members, I would like to thank Phil for his outstanding service and leadership as our CEO for the last six years. Under Phil’s leadership, the company has made significant progress through a series of strategic initiatives that have expanded the company’s overall operations and strengthened our governance and risk management processes. As the new executive chairman of the company on October 1, 2024, Phil Rohrbaugh will lead all governance activities of the company and collaborate with Brad around strategy and key strategic initiatives.”

Wagner has been working in the agriculture industry for almost 25 years after working in public accounting for four years upon graduation from Messiah University. His background and experience include working in a family-owned agribusiness, owning his own feed mill operations, and leading the company’s animal nutrition business for the last five years. He has also been very active in the agriculture and business community having past leadership roles in PennAg and is participating in Ag-Advisory committees and Messiah University’s Entrepreneurship Advisory Council. Wagner also has board of directors’ experience as he now serves on the board of a regional bank as well as a mutual insurance company. He and his wife, Natalie, and three children reside in Lancaster County.

The Wenger Group Inc. is a leading Northeast family-owned food, agricultural products, and agricultural services organization headquartered in Pennsylvania. The company offers animal nutrition and feeds; specialty protein production, processing, and marketing; on-farm protein production services; and grain, fertilizer, and ingredient procurement. The company recently expanded its footprint with the acquisitions of Leidy’s LLC, a premium pork processor that is headquartered in Souderton, Penn., and Esbenshade’s swine and feed mill operations.
